Originating from centuries-old olive groves, owned by the same family since the mid-18th century, and now in its sixth generation under Aníbal Soares, this high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil now bears the "Segredos do Côa" seal.

It is a "Farm Olive Oil" because it comes exclusively from its own olive groves, in "terroirs" with unique and homogeneous characteristics, resulting in very limited production, corresponding only to the harvest of the family's various plots.

It has the characteristics of a "Mountain Olive Oil" due to the soil typology of the "Douro Superior" and the "Farm-to-Table" concept, since most of the production goes directly to the consumer.

"Segredos do Côa" is the Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) with its unique "bitterness" and "spiciness," recognized by experts in general, which translates every year into the highest percentage of national and international awards, honoring Portugal. Finally, its very low acidity reflects an early harvest and the speed of delivery of the olives to the mill, obtaining a pure juice of superior quality, the only one that should be reserved for raw use.

A gourmet product, ideal for your table and for any of your dishes, even dessert, helping to create the habit of tasting quality extra virgin olive oil, as well as making known its true applicability in different foods, to be enjoyed naturally, in seasonings or simple preparations.

It is in the Upper Douro, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, high-altitude lands, that this nectar is produced, exclusively from the family's properties, namely in Castelo Melhor, on the way to the Penascosa Rock Engravings, near the mouth of the Côa River.

With a usual acidity of 0.1/0.2 and a complex and harmonious flavor. This characteristic is due to the harvest being done at the right time, usually earlier than usual (mid/late October), giving the olive oil bitter and spicy notes, characteristic of the region. For this, the olives must be at the ideal point of ripeness, resulting in pure juice, that is, extra virgin olive oil, without any kind of defect.

In these high-altitude lands of the Upper Douro, a "Traditional Olive Grove" without irrigation, of centuries-old olive trees, with 100% natural, certified organic agricultural practices, the "olive harvest" is done entirely manually.

Being cold-pressed, the result is excellent, since the intention is not to produce more and more, but to produce better and better.
