How it was born to be.

Crudus , is the Latin word for raw, and the best name for this oil, would not be possible.

It is an aromatic PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) olive oil, which is not afraid to come out anyway, raw.

Stripped of pretentiousness, rural and pure. It honors its Trás-os-Montes origin, bringing a flavor with personality to our table.

It is obtained by traditional methods, being extracted cold. This means that it is obtained directly from the crushing of the Trás-os-Montes olives, all purely mechanical. This process raises your taste buds, keeping you faithful to the characteristic flavor of the olives, which gave rise to them.

  • The story, “raw” and hard.

The story of Crudus Bio , begins sometime in the 50s, where the courage of a man gave birth to a dedication and passion, which was enough to bring his heritage to this day.

When age left him weakened, the following generations wanted to continue their efforts. They did this by bringing their olive oil into the 21st century, with a striking name and modern design, but with the quality of who knows.

In this way, this is much more than an olive oil, it is a heritage with a Portuguese soul .

  • The Portuguese Transmontano olive grove

Trás-os-Montes doesn't let us down! It brings together the essential soil and climate conditions for your olives to thank us, showing a unique quality.

The olive grove is a traditional olive grove, at altitude (about 500 to 700 meters above sea level) and under rainfed conditions. This allows the oils extracted from these olive groves to be extraordinarily complex and harmonious, mainly due to this distinct combination of cultivars and terroirs , which give them life.

We have with us three species of olive trees: Cobrançosa, Madural and Verdeal Transmontana. They are the most common species in Trás-os-Montes, as they have a very productive and quite regular cultivar.
