The Socalcos do Côa Reserva Red 2021 is a tribute to the winemaking tradition of the Douro Superior and the legacy of a family that, for over three centuries, has cared for the same land with respect and passion.

Owned by the Soares family since the early 18th century—currently in its sixth generation—this property located on the banks of the Côa River is a symbol of continuity and authenticity.

Produced by Aníbal Soares, this wine is made from a classic Douro blend: 60% Touriga Nacional, 30% Touriga Franca, and 10% Tinta Roriz. The grapes, harvested from small hillside plots, are vinified with precision to preserve the character of the terroir and the purity of the fruit.

The wine aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, where it developed structure and elegance, without losing the vigor of youth. The result is a red wine with a deep soul and remarkable balance, combining strength and sophistication. In the glass, it displays an intense ruby ​​color. On the nose, concentrated aromas of ripe black fruits, cherry, and blackberry stand out, enveloped by nuances of cocoa, fine spices, vanilla, and soft wood toast. On the palate, it reveals volume and density, supported by silky tannins and a balanced acidity that lends freshness and longevity. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent, leaving the mineral signature of schist and Côa on the palate.
